Matinee Wives

1970

Matinee Wives is a West Coast production, made only five years later than Paulette, which I covered yesterday, but the time and the place mean everything.  The women are taller and leaner and a whole lot more exposed.  Way more exposed.  A shit ton more.  We are talking minute after minute of two gals with one guy, two gals with one another, a gal and a guy, a gal all by her little lonesome with nothing but her toys... you name it, they do it.

Here are all the videos described and collaged below:

Matinee stars the prototypical West Coast grind house babe, Barbara Mills (aka Barbara Caron), who was the personification of 1970 free love.  Her enormous appeal was in just how damned sensual she could be without a hint of anything artificial - it just oozed out of her.

Joining Barbara was the veteran Luanne Roberts (aka Christine Murray), who crossed over to television as a guest star,

... and the one-named, one-movie Allessanora.  Well, I suppose if its 1970 and you look as good as she does and you are going to make only one film you might as well get nekkid and stay that way.  Allessanora did.

Here are Allesanora and Barbara Mills together

There is also a brief appearance from an actress named Jeannie Anderson

You will find Matinee Wives only on DVD, and a real bad DVD at that, clearly not the original print, but something someone found in the back room of a long-closed movie theater.  Scratches everywhere, lighting is horrible.  It is to weep.

Tuna Retrospective

Many of you remember Tuna, who was the most prolific contributor of images, and the second-most prolific wordsmith during the first 15 years of the Fun House. For those who are not acquainted with him, it's high time you met. Although he passed away before the Blu-Ray age, his DVD captures and collages still hold up as some of the best work that has ever appeared on the internet. Enjoy!
