"Cheech & Chong's Still Smokin'" (1983)
Cheech & Chong's Still Smokin'is a collection of many of their skits tied together with the merest excuse for a plot. They are invited to attend a film festival in Amsterdam hosted by Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds (who end up being no-shows at their own festival). To help pay back their host, C & C plan, then stage a performance. Although I agree with Maltin that this is an absolute bomb, I have to admit that it got several laughs from me. The nudity is totally gratuitous and by
unidentified actresses, but Cheech and Chong are cultural icons of my generation, making this film a personal imperative.

Well, sorta....
Scoop is actually off for the Holidays. But fear not, he left a few presents in our stockings. Actually the images you will see in the Johnny Web section for the next few days will probably all be from Tom Cat.
Of course, in typical Cat Fashion, the Polish Prince has a nice assortment of obscure Euro-stuff, as well as Hollywood's finest lined up for our viewing pleasure.
First is today's obscure Euro-movie "The Scarlet Tunic". Naturally, I haven't seen it, but the IMDb user comments pretty much tell me all I need to hear. One viewer basically says that anyone associated with this movie will probably never work again.
On the Hollywood side...it's some familiar territory. Melanie Griffith in the Brian De Palma movie "Body Double".

Y'all realize by now I don't like to scan the most recent stuff, mainly because I know in a few days folks with real touch will do a better job. Well, this time I ain't waitin'. The Jan 2001 Maxim came in yesterday with pictures of Laura Prepon, Izabella Scorupco, Tatiana Zavialova and the best looking pool shark on the planet, Jeanette Lee.
Wish I could say I had time to get all of them but the cover of Laura took more effort than I had expected. So we will need to settle for Laura's cover, three from Izabella (1, 2, 3) and the best one (out of two) from Jeanette (that one I am particularly happy with since the scan is about twice the size of the original picture).

From "The Cheyenne Social Club"...The late Jimmy Stewart stars in this well-known movie where he inherits The Cheyenne Social Club, a euphemism for a brothel. Shirley Jones is the Madame and is shown in her underwear. Nothing to get excited about, we're talking 19th century underwear here. Elaine Devry is one of the 'workers' who wears a diaphanous top. Good enough to give old Jimmy a feel!

Pamela is one of the leads in H. G. Wells' Empire of the Ants. The movie genre is horror and forgettable. Some ants eat some radioactive waste, grow to an incredible size and start taking over the local area. It's funny how the radioactivity makes the ants super intelligent and the humans super idiots. I actually just re-visited "Strange Days" about a week ago. I've always enjoyed the movie. Excluding Don McKellar's "Last Night" (which is the best of all "End of the World" movies if you ask me), I think "Strange Days" takes home the gold for best of the "Y2K End of the World" movies. Written by James Cameron, any "Dark Angel" fans will probably see a lot of similarity if you compare the two. Not so much in actual events, but certainly in Cameron's near future, apocalyptic style. Good Sci-fi. The only real draw backs are the many horrible wigs, and Juliette Lewis singing.

From Whyscan...here's a little something he found in a newsgroup. Most of us have seen images from this scene before, but this is one of the largest, and best that I can recall. It's from and episode of Buffy, one in which SMG is on all fours and we get to see right down her dress. Many folks claimed they saw nipples, but my personal opinion is those guys probably see nipples in Rorschach tests too.
