Mache Alles Mit

 (1971)

Mache Alles Mit!, which means essentially "experience everything," is an obscure bit of West German erotica. It was evidently shown in the UK under the titles Bed-Partners and A Bit of Everything, but is only available on DVD in German with no English subtitles, so my plot description will reveal more than usual, hence spoiler warnings.

Dagmar (Marion Forster) is 17, ripe and curious. Her father is a ogre who is dedicating to making sure she remains pure. She finds an ad from a sexy young couple looking for a threesome and answers it, but before anything can happen, her parents call the police, who spot the ad circled in her bedroom, and investigate. The swingers sneak her out the back door before the police spot her.

Dagmar runs to her friend's house to get some cash. She calls home, and finds that her mom is somewhat sympathetic, and makes arrangements for her to stay with her aunt in the country, telling the religious spinster aunt that she is pregnant. The aunt keeps pumping her for salacious information, and lacking experiences of her own, obliges with tales of all of the young women around her. Aunt is way more interested in these erotic tales than you would expect from a devout woman. Eventually, Dagmar relates a story featuring herself with a young man, whereupon the aunt calls her a whore of Babylon and starts beating her with a rubber hose. Dagmar tells auntie that she is actually a virgin and not pregnant at all, but auntie will have none of it. Dagmar runs away, and moves into a mill house with a student she has met. The two eventually fall in love, but Dagmar is underage, so we need a moral ending. Dad discovers where Dagmar is hiding, and shows up with the police. They arrest the boyfriend, and Dagmar is forced to go home.

This is decidedly a specialized taste and not at all typical erotica. Dagmar is an interesting and sympathetic character, and the underlying message, that at some point kids need to be allowed to mature the way they want to, is one I agree with. Unfortunately, the complexity of the characterization, which is the film's greatest strength, is actually a weakness in this case because the DVD has no English subtitles.  In a more traditional sort of erotic film, the language would be far less important than here, where the story is very difficult to understand unless you have some command of German.
