Entourage
Mailbox about last week's Entourage clip.
(Yesterday's Fun House)
Letter 1: The guys were joking with Katie Morgan (in red dress behind
driver's seat) about going to the Adult Film convention in Las Vegas.
Katie is another actor on HBO. She has had a couple of shows, including "KATIE
MORGAN'S PORN 101" and also "KATIE
MORGAN: A PORN STAR REVEALED."
Letter 2:
The young porn stars in the picture you
showed are: Katie Morgan (blonde with arms up), Vanessa Motto (driver),
Shay Jordan (brunette in rear) and Cassie Young, whom Mr. Skin identified. They are playing themselves going to the (AVN)
Adult Video Network convention in Las Vegas, as they said in the
dialogue. The guys state, "There is Katie Morgan." She is the only one of
the group who speaks. They are all listed in the credits.
True Blood
Episode 6
Well, bless my soul. I thought that Anna Paquin would stay permanently
in the "no nudity" column, but she has obviously been reading our page,
and must have realized there is a real chance to take the #1 spot in the annual
"favorite nude scene" poll this year, so she doffed her duds. And said
dud-doffing did not occur in some airy-fairy Oscar hopeful, either, but in
a down and dirty vampire TV show! Welcome to the club, Anna. And jeez, you
look terrific. You should not have been hiding those sweater-stuffers. I
had no idea they were so impressive.
Three film clips and
various caps and collages from various imagers.

The Making of the Carousel Girls Calendar
(1993)
Some videotapes will never make it to digital media. The Making of the Carousel
Girls Calendar should be one of them. This is, for most of its running time, a
standard strip and pose - no wiggling at all - kind of tape. Gals get nekkid in
two settings, once while they are posing for this calendar while riding a
carousel ... you see where the title comes from ... and again out in the wild
somewhere. The carousel posing is partly behind-the-scenes of the photoshoot and
partly a more free-form, clothes-free romp. All that is just dandy and it takes
up maybe 60% of the tape time. The other 40% is not so dandy as the folks who
shot this tape turned it into a documentary about the photographer. One would
not object except he is made out to be some sort of artist who sculpts and
paints and only lately chose to shoot nekkid gals on film because that is just
as legitimate a medium to work with.
He is a latter day Toulouse Lautrec, this guy - just as humorless
Only taller.
And no beard.
Anyway the gals look good and were this a DVD I might still be capping it. A few
of them you know from real movies - Julie K. Smith, Samantha Phillips, Erin
Ashley and Shelly Jones. Several others come with two names but seem to have
done little more than pose for Penthouse - Robin Brown, Sasha Vinni, Shandra
Rollins, Amy Morgan, Gina Passarella and Dawnya Welsh make up that group. With
three women we are on a first-name basis only. Those would be the Pleasure
Twins, Jennifer and Justina, and a pneumatic blonde named Heather (weren't all
over-inflated blondes in the early 90's named Heather?).
Do keep in mind this was from an old videotape and so the quality is nothing
to brag about...so I won't. But as I stated at the outset, videotape is all we
are likely ever to see of the Carousel Girls and their calendar.

Rest Stop 2
(2008)
This follow-up to 2006's horror/thriller Rest Stop is a true sequel; it
picks up the story a year later, and brings back the original's main
character, Nicole, although in a smaller role and played by a different
actress.
Back from Iraq, a soldier sets out with his girlfriend and another
friend to find brother Jess and girlfriend Nicole who disappeared a year
ago. Along the way, they encounter the mysterious truck that, unknown to
them, was involved in Jess and Nicole's disappearance. At a rest stop,
they see things that are beyond explanation, and then see what appears to
be Jess and Nicole's ghosts.
I thought the original was a solid horror/thriller, and the sequel
lives up to the original. Far from perfect, just as the original was, but
still a decent night's entertainment for horror fans.
