Undercurrent (1998) is either on ok Thriller with tons of nudity, or another in the recent rash of very good soft cores. Ex cop Lorenzo Lamas shows up after a 3 year prison term in the nightclub his old friend manages in Puerto Rico. He took the rap for his friend, and his friend hooks him up with the head of a crime family that owns most of the Puerto Rican clubs. He is hired to seduce the mans wife, to facilitate a divorce for cause. The wife (Brenda Strong) is stunning, which makes the job a little less painful. Lamas would still have passed, except that his buddy needs him to take the job to pay off a bad debt to the crime boss. What follows twist and turns through the picturesque streets and buildings of Puerto Rico, and we learn that nearly nothing is what it at first seemed.

There is an abundance of exposure, including multiple instances of unknown hookers, an unknown woman having sex with Lamas' buddy, Benda strong showing breasts and buns in several scenes, and Lamas' girlfriend, Christianne Gout also showing breasts and buns in several scenes. I found the pace good including the sex scenes, the characters interesting, and the lighting, locations and photography very well done. A few IMDB readers have it at 5.4/10. As a thriller, I say C. As a soft core, B-.

Nowhere in Sight is the grade-z version of Audrey Hepburn's famous role in Wait Until Dark. This time it is Helen Slater who is the blind woman being terrorized by two low-rent thugs.

Tick Tock is a movie Tuna and I both reviewed before (and both liked, despite its being a no budget straight-to-vid), but I stumbled over a DVD, and my previous images were VHS. Since the nudity is interesting and frontal, I did it again

Former Top Gun star Kelly McGillis has added fuel to Hollywood rumors about her sexuality with her controversial new film. In the shocking flick, the beautiful 44-year-old actress plays a sex-mad English professor who embarks on a steamy relationship with a lesbian detective, played by the 22-year-old Australian actress Jill Fitzpatrick. Titled The Monkey's Mask, the film contains a number of explicit sex scenes between the two stars, which a crew member claims "leave little to the imagination." Kelly has been dogged with Hollywood rumors concerning her sexuality throughout her career, despite the fact that she's been married to California millionaire Fred Tillian for 13 years and has two children. But although the sexy star is well known in the gay district of Florida's Key West, she denies the accusations that she is secretly a lesbian and says she was very apprehensive about filming the steamy sex scenes. She recalls, "I was scared to death. It's hard exposing yourself physically when you've had two kids. I knew this movie would start all that lesbian thing up again and it doesn't bother me. It isn't about me coming out but if people want to think that, that's fine. I don't care. If anyone has a problem with the scenes, they can kiss my big, fat butt."
