Hear No Evil (1993) stars Marlee Matlan as a personal trainer who is unable
to hear. One of her clients stashes a stolen rare coin in her pager, then
disappears when his card explodes on a bridge. The police chief behind the
theft really wants the valuable coin for his retirement fund, and will do
anything to get it. He is convinced Marlee has it, and persecutes her
relentlessly. She is befriended by D. B. Sweeney, a friend of the man who
planted the coin on her, and together, they try to nail the policeman and
survive.
Reviews are rather unkind, pointing to numerous plot holes, none of which I
noticed. I thought Marlee did a good job in the role, and found it a barely
watchable thriller.
