The Terminator (1984) is #154 in the Top 250 at IMDB, with a user rating of 7.8/10. I am sure all of you know about it, but Arnold is a terminator android sent from the machines of the future to kill the woman that is the mother of the human who defeats them. The father also comes back to save her. Of course, while he is there, Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton have sex, which is how Michael's father is conceived. I don't know a lot about time travel, but I don't see how the son could exist in the future if his parents had not yet in the past, but maybe I am too picky. The love scene is dark, and a post prod blue filter was used to darken it further. Fortunately, I was able to get the blue out.

I didn't like this film as much as most people, but Sci Fi action is not my favorite genre. They did a good job with Arnold, since his English skills were still minimal, and he had not yet learned to act. They gave him zero personality, and the ability to mimic other people's voices, so most of his difficult dialogue was looped in post production by the other cast members. I must be the only one who was not impressed, as Maltin gives 3 1/2 stars, which is typical of the critical response. The film spawned two sequels. I will give it a C+. The DVD is loaded with special features, but the transfer is a little dark and grainy.

I looked over Heartbreakers one more time because it had 22 minutes of deleted scenes. Sorry, no flesh. JLH did run on a treadmill while wearing a bikini top. That's the bad news. The good news is that there is a pretty good look at Hewitt's buns in the movie itself, and a possible aureola sighting (see collage #1) . I watched the movie again, and liked it better than the first time. I've always thought Ray Liotta was trapped into doing the same role again and again, pretty much of a so-so grade b star in his thug roles, but he has a some gift for comedy, and I hope he stays with it.

• Sigourney Weaver. How can she look this good at her age? Is that possible? As you may have read, Sigourney has indicated an interest in becoming the first mainstream actress to do a hardcore sex scene on film. The convention-defying Ms Weaver may just do it, but if one of you want to hire her, better do it soon, because she's not going to look like this much longer.

100 Girls is a movie we have discussed in much depth before, but it's now on DVD, and who can resist Katherine Heigl in a bra? Does this woman have some Jumbo Jacks, or what?

The Godmonster of Indian Flats can't be summarized briefly, other than to say it's seriously fucked-up. It was made by a guy who lived in San Francisco during the heyday of acid. There's a pretty good chance he took some now and again, including during the filmmaking process. If you liked Greaser's Palace, this may be your kind of film. No nudity.

Beautiful Creatures is yet another Brit lowlife film with confusing double crosses marked by black humor and impenetrable working class Northern accents. Brief nudity from an anonymous body on a video-tape-within-the-film, nothing from anyone identifiable.

The Southern Man is a twist on Southern Gothic. Imagine a kidnapping story if it were written by Tennessee Williams. Wouldn't the kidnapper turn out to be the banished son of the rich granpappy? Wouldn't there be plenty of horrible family secrets, closet homosexuals, presumed homosexuals who were really straight, men who made their fortunes in corrupt ways, slutty women who pretend to be sensitive and virginal, bones dug up from under the porch by coon dogs....  This went straight to vid, but it isn't a trash pic. It has serious literary aspirations, and plays out like a forgotten story by Capote or Faulkner or Tennessee himself.
