Monday

Well, I guess the drought is partially over. Sunday brought us our first Fall prestige pictures (Drive and Lars von Trier's Melancholia) and our first of the new season of prestige cable shows (Boardwalk Empire)

Melancholia

2011

I was a bit disappointed in the Kirsten Dunst nudity in Melancholia, in that we've already seen 90% of it in the trailer. Setting that aside, it's still good stuff. Here are the film clips. Below is the one additional bit we have not seen. We had previously seen the long shot, which exhibits Dunst's full body, but not the close-up of her surprisingly big breasts.

Drive

2011

Terrific movie, but the only nudity comes from an assortment of strippers who witness some backstage violence.

Boardwalk Empire

s1e1

Paz de la Huerta exposed her lower body, but she's pretending to be many months into pregnancy, and it's a dark asexual scene, so it's not very appealing.

An unnamed floozie wiggled her bare breasts for Nucky (Steve Buscemi) in the opening scene.

  • * Yellow asterisk: funny (maybe).

  • * White asterisk: expanded format.

  • * Blue asterisk: not mine.

  • No asterisk: it probably sucks.
