"Scandal" (1989)
Scandal has been discussed more than once here. For a quick refresher, John Hurt stars as Stephan Ward, a society wanna be who knows everyone in politics, and every showgirl who enjoys a good time. He manages to get the two groups together, including John Profumo, British Secretary of War and the Soviet military attache. When all of this came to light, it created a scandal that forced the resignation of Profumo, and brought down the conservative government of Harold Macmillan. Stephan Ward committed suicide during his trial for pandering.
Hurt gave a very strong performance, portraying Ward as a man who just wanted to fit in. I recall the scandal as it was actually happening, although it didn't interest me much then. I figured that if a bunch of people wanted to have sex, that was their right. I still feel that way. The film is highly acclaimed, and I can see all of the reasons, but I have trouble staying awake through it. Bridget Fonda played one of the showgirls (Mandy Rice Davies). Gloria Jones was body double for Joanne Whalley, who played Christine Keeler.
The moral of the story about how the upper class can crucify someone as a scapegoat is well presented, there is ample nudity, and much of th3e story is historical fact. I have to say hat I personally have trouble staying awake beginning to end.

Comments by Brainscan:
Saw the Muna Hunt scans in Friday's Funhouse; thought these would be a welcome complement to Colombian babe. Not that anyone cares but I like this trend away from pallid East Europeans to robust Southern hemisphere types.
And while we are on the subject of South American fashion models we bring you Ana Claudia Michels (again) on the runway. Why is it no one I know wears clothes like these. Come to think of it... now that I consider the shape of the people I know... thank goodness no one I know wears clothes
like these.
And then for no good reason 'cept she has a right fine rumpus we finish off today's post with Italian actress (and office products saleswoman) Giulia Olivetti.
Aussie actress Abi Tucker has made the rounds of the best television shows on that continent and has done a few notable movies, some with quite an edge to them. So to find her nekkid was a real source of joy here on the Brainscan farm.

Comments by Oz:
Laila doesn't have to do much acting in A Sweet Scent of Death. The opening scene shows her nude body being discovered in a field. There are a couple of flash backs as the local villagers try to discover what had happened to her in this Spanish drama.

A Girl is a Girl is one of those arty-farty relationship films that at least one person on the IMDb liked. Not my cup of tea but there is a bit of nudity and some very nice looking women. There is nudity by Aeryn Twidle and Lauren Baranyay Nothing shown by Paige Morrison but I like her.

"Winter of Our Dreams"....The main stars in this 1982 movie are Judy Davis and Bryan Brown (sorry Scoop). Judy plays a prostitute who is befriended by Bryan. The movie is nothing great and the film quality is not that good. Cathy Downes plays Bryan's wife. There is also a collage of a couple of sun bakers just to add a bit more interest.

Comments by Oz:
While on a Judy Davis theme, I've added a collage from 10 years later when she was one of the 'wives' in Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives.

The clothes are off, but the exposure is limited in these scenes from "Krieger und Liebhaber".

Going topless from her only listing in the IMDb, "Stürmischer Sommer".

Comments By Schmutzfink:
Maria is the grand niece of the famous conductor of the Philharmony in Berlin, predecessor of von Karajan. Academy Award winner Istvan Szabo's new project is a film about him.

From 1992's "Den Demokratiske terroristen". a.k.a "The Democratic Terrorist". Is there such a thing? According to the movies, all terrorists are either Middle Eastern or European, and always more in a group with one dictator and a bunch of henchmen who are killed if they speak out of turn. Not a whole lot of voting going on with those folks.
