(2013)

Proxy is a drama where Esther (Alexia Rasmussen) is almost at full term of her pregnancy when she is attacked and her unborn child is killed in a callous and targeted attack. As a part of her recovery, she goes to a support where she meets Melanie (Alexa Havins), a woman who has just lost her child. The get along well and plan to get together again, but Melanie doesn't turn up to the next meeting, which disappoints Esther until she accidentally spies her at the shop, where Melanie screams about losing her child. What transpires confuses Esther, but also intrigues her. She doesn't know what to make of it, but continues on meeting her. Meanwhile, she get together with her girlfriend Anika (Kristina Klebe). But, things aren't right in Esther world and this will lead to an extremely tragic event. And that's just half the movie which goes a good two hours and is something quite out there to say the least.

Not a lot of sane things go on in this movie, but it is never less than intriguing and is very engrossing in parts. It's not without a few issues (the most fake pregnant belly you're likely to see is a glaring one), but this is one helluva movie that hooked me in nice and good.

Sallie Harmsen, Lisa Smit, Eva Bartels, Sophie van Winden and various unknowns in Kenau (2014) in 1080hd. I haven't seen the movie, but I know of the legendary incident it is based upon. An army of women was supposedly instrumental in the Dutch defense of a city against the Spanish. It seems that the story is mostly myth, and that the real Kenau merely carried earth to rebuild the city walls when the city was under siege. The story was magnified over the years like one of those parlor games where you try to pass a story around a circle. Here is the Wikipedia summary.
