Burning Palms

Burning Palms is 5 short stories set in LA that
involve consequences for one's actions. The 15 year-old daughter (Emily
Meade) of Dennis (Dylan McDermott) is back in town and meets his new
girlfriend Deidra (Rosamund Pike), who is horrified that the daughter is
sexually precocious and very close to her father. Ginny (Jamie Chung) is
asked by her boyfriend to try something new during sex. Two gay men decide
to adopt a child from Africa, but she turns out not as they imagined. Some
spoilt brats decide to investigate who stole the placenta of the now dead
child of their Latin maid (Paz Vega) and find out something more shocking.
A woman (Zoe Saldana) is raped in her home and finds the perpetrator's
wallet, but instead of turning him in, she wants something else from him.
Inconsistent throughout, some tales are interesting, but they are never
really that great. Feels like it's more in love with the more 'shocking'
elements of the tale than with telling anything meaningful. Ah well...'
