Part 1 of a Carroll Baker film festival. After the ridicule
she received for her work in Harlow, followed by an ugly legal
battle with Paramount and a bitter divorce, Baker joined the
exodus of American actresses to Europe, where she proceeded to
make a whole bunch of movies that make Harlow look like
Battleship Potemkin. This is one of them: Orgasmo, which was
directed by Umberto Lenzi, the master of cannibal movies, and
the director of that revered cinema treasure, Invasion by the
Atomic Zombies. You will see what Orgasmo was like from
the lengthy clip,
which includes just about every 1960s film cliché.
The other nudity in Orgasmo came from
Collette Descombes.
Lina Wertmuller was the first woman ever nominated for a
Best Director Oscar, and she's still around, still directing,
although she's now in her 80s. She did this film, Fernando e
Carolina, when she was in her seventies. The clips are those
irritating Russian dubs where the actors speak Russian but the
director does not remove the original sound track, so we hear
two voices at once. God only knows why Russians do this.
Anyway, the nudity is nice. Here's
