"True Blood"

s2, e1

Just a quick note. This film clip (third party), and therefore the captures below, are 1920x1080. That is not necessarily as good in HDTV as it is in Blu-Ray. You see, Blu-Ray images are 1080p, progressive scans, but when TV images are shown in 1080, they are actually 1080i.  (Actually, I'm not sure if that is always true, but I don't know of any 1080p TV broadcasts. It is possible to broadcast 1080p shows, but requires a massive amount of bandwidth.)

The key point is that 720p captures and film clips are often superior to 1080i, albeit smaller. If you compare Aesthete's film clip and captures below to the one above, you'll probably like his better. My belief, however, is that an important story should be covered as thoroughly as possible, and the1080i clip is available, so let's have a look at it!

  • * Yellow asterisk: funny (maybe).

  • * White asterisk: expanded format.

  • * Blue asterisk: not mine.

  • No asterisk: it probably sucks.

Scoop's note: I dropped "Cat People, part 2" out of today's Aesthete column because True Blood is a breaking story. Annette O'Toole's breasts will return tomorrow, assuming that nobody special gets naked today.

TV Land

Today we have a "Hankster Light," all TV Land edition.

Anna Friel is sexy as hell on the new "Tonight" Show with Conan. Great leg & thigh plus some nice cleavage. Caps and a 1080 clip.

Rebecca Romijin, from her short-lived TV series "Pepper Dennis," shows off her new bikini. What a body. Caps and a 1080 clip.

Scoop's note: another rarity. I have no idea what this is. I've never seen it before except in previous contributions from Scorpion. But Spradling looks great.

Film Clips

Alysha Thompson in 10 Dead Men (2008)

Cordelia Bugeja in The Crew (2008) (Despite the odd-looking name, she's British, and this film is from the UK. I believe the name is "Bugeja" is Maltese.)

Kristin Kowalski in Scar (2007)

Loles Leon in El Amante Bilingue (1993). She was 43 at the time. Her face is familiar if you like Almodovar's movies.

Senta Berger in De Sade (1969). Senta is still acting regularly. Her film career began in 1955.
