This drama attempts to put a human face on the immigration issues that
have been such hot political topics in the U.S. recently. It does a good
job, although many, especially those advocating tougher enforcement, will
feel it is extremely pro-illegal.
Max (Harrison Ford) is an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)
agent. He does his job with dedication, but also manages occasionally to
show compassion for some of the illegals he catches, and has a reputation
among the agents for having the highest OR (own recognizance) release
rate. As Max does his job, the story tracks several people with whom he
comes in contact, and delves into the very different immigration issues
they all face.
There are some interesting storylines here, and some nice nudity to
boot. Regardless of your feelings on immigration, this movie provides an
interesting and sometimes exciting view of the issue, even if it is
somewhat tilted to the left.
