Angel (1984) is one of my favorite exploitation films, and has now been released in a very nice Widescreen remastered set of the three Angel pictures. The film uses two cliches for a plot. The first is 15 year old honor student by day (Molly), and hooker by night (Angel). The second is sicko killing hookers. All of this is taking place on Hollywood Blvd. The High School student aspect allows for two staples of the teensploitatiion genre, the nude cheerleader locker room scene, and the nude shower scene. The ripped whores element gives us topless hookers and plenty of blood. The character of Molly/Angel, played by baby faced Donna Wilkes, has been doing what she does since she was abandoned by her mother at the age of 13, and has survived using her whits.

What sets this film above most of the genre is Angel's circle of friends. Let's start with her landlord, a Jewish foul-mouthed dyke played by Susan Tyrrell and Angel's (and her landlord's) best friend, a middle aged drag queen, played by Dick Shawn. Then there are the street performers Like Yoyo Charlie (Steven M. Porter), a Chaplinesque comedian , and Kit Carson (Rory Calhoun) a former stunt double for all the great early cowboys. A decent cop, Lt. Andrews (Cliff Gorman) is in charge of the investigation, but Angel and her friends, sick of their friends being murdered, take the law into their own hands.

Donna McDaniel and Graem McGavin, as murdered hookers, both show breasts. Wilkes has no exposure, but has decent pokies near the beginning of the film. Numerous unknowns show full frontal in the locker room/shower scenes, and there is breast exposure in a porno movie.

IMDB readers show no respect for this film, awarding 4.8 of 10. Based on the Comments at IMDB, I am not the only one that loves this film, and it was popular enough to spawn two sequels. Sure, this is no Best Picture contender, but it is a very good exploitation classic, and therefore a C+. Tomorrow, Avenging Angel, and Angel III: The Final Chapter.

Fast Company (1979)
Canadian movie about drag racing which is unfortunately hefmag bunny Claudia Jennings' last movie as she was killed in a car accident the year this movie was released. Also stars Judy Foster from the sex comedy classic "One Night Only" and a couple of no-name actresses as hitchhikers.

• Claudia Jennings: pokies and skimpy underwear.
• Judy Foster: topless in bed.
• hitchhikers: Cheri Hilsabeck & Sonya Ratke topless covered in motor oil.

A Call to Remember (1997)
Good daylight love scene but the guy shows more nudity than the girl.

• Ingrid Kavelaars: very brief nipple peek.

Shadow Dancing (1988)
Mystery that takes place in a small dance theatre. Nadine Van der Velde who played a student in the sex-comedy classic "Private School" has some fully clothed sex scenes but she doesn't wear much beyond a full slip or dancing outfit.

• Nadine Van der Velde: bra-less pokies throughout.

Bliss
Erotic Canadian miniseries made by women but not quite up to The Red Shoe Diaries in the nudity department.

• Torri Higginson: nipple peak and full dorsal nudity.

Sweet Killing (1993)
The year 1993 marks the point where 24's Leslie Hope started doing nude scenes and getting more acting roles.

• Leslie Hope: dark topless love scene.

Schemes (1994)
Straight-to-video featuring the only known nude scene of Polly Draper from the tv-series thirtysomething.

• Leslie Hope: side of breast, nude in shower.
