City
Baby is a drama set in
Portland following Cloey
(Cora Benesh) who's
carefree existence is
about to be challenged.
Currently masquerading as
a model/actress, she is
being pushed by her best
friend Paige (Jillian
Leigh) to join her in New
York to escape Portland.
Her long term boyfriend
Jesse (Andrew Harris),
still trying to make with
his low rung band City
Baby, is possibly the only
thing keeping her in
Portland, but that changes
when their relationship
disintegrates between his
flirting with groupies,
him not going to her play
and then finally she meets
Michael (Richard Keith)
and has a brief fling with
him when Cloey and Jesse
break up. At the urging of
her father, she takes a
job as a receptionist, but
New York is calling and
she will find her way
there. Fairly watchable
movie about 20-somethings
trying to find there way,
even with its inevitable
hipster trappings. Cora
Benesh (from The Sacred),
who co-wrote the movie,
handles the movie fairly
well and she's pretty to
look at too.
