The Grindhouse Era (continued)

Some grindhouse producers made dozens of short videos to fill in the time between the full-length movies, which seldom ran much more than an hour. 

We can start with Nudes On Tiger Reef (1965) because it is shot in color and the transfer is excellent AND it has both Gigi Darlene and Darlene Bennett playing nudists. ‘Nuff said.

Sandy Sinclair also shows up, as do a couple dozen nudist-type people (one of whom you can see in the first collage with Gigi - she looks familiar but I could not recall how or why).

Hot Rocks (1965) stars three hung-over women who decide to use the sauna in their apartment (??!!) to recover well enough to go off to work.  None of the three is familiar to me, but the topless woman they talk to on the phone is Gretchen Rudolph.

Swinging Nurses (1965) makes up for the sins of Hot Nights on Campus by giving us Judy Adler as she whiles away some topless time in bed and on the phone.  The shift in color balance within a single take is an annoying part of this movie, but we can live with it because of Judy. 

June Roberts also shows up as a person Judy calls on the phone, for an 8-second scene.  Sure hope she was paid well for her services.

The movie is about a trio of nurses who help out a photographer/patient by posing in the buff.  If that makes no sense to you, join the club.  The names of the three actresses who play them is lost to history.
