"About Schmidt"
About Schmidt (2002) was a critical hit, and I am sure all of you have seen page after page of review, including the very thoughtful one written by Scoopy {EMBED LINK} several weeks ago. While I see all of his points, I enjoyed the film much more than he seemed to. True, all of the characters, with the possible exception of Kathy Bates, were rather pitiful, but Nicholson, cast very much against type, held me riveted through much of the film. Bates, as the mother of the groom, was absolutely irrepressible. I greatly admire her for the courage to do a nude hot tub scene at her age. Nicholson, not to be outdone, shows his buns in the next scene.
The IMDB score of 7.7 is very high for what is a long (125 minutes) character driven black comedy. It is even more remarkable given that it focuses on the amazingly ordinary and unimportant life of an actuary from Omaha. Nicholson was nominated for an Oscar, and won the Golden Globe. As is often the case for me, I agree with the Golden Globe. Bates received nominations in the supporting actress category from the Academy and the Golden Globes. This film is somewhere between a high C+ and a B-. It appeals to a much broader audience than a film in this genre would normally do. There is also an upbeat moral to the story. Do not live your life like Schmidt, focused on your job and your suburban nest, lest you wake up on retirement day and realize you have missed your whole life.

"Getting Into Heaven" day 2
Getting Into Heaven (1970) day two. Tonight, we have the Uschi Digard images from this film, which is considered one of her beast, not only because she was looking great, and we see a lot of her, but because she had a lot of dialogue, giving us a chance to enjoy he accent.
Almost as interesting as the nudity is the story of Producer/Director Edward Montoro. He is one of the most infamous producers in Hollywood history. With this film, he founded Film Ventures International Pictures (FVI). This film made money, so he went on to make horror. Unfortunately, he copied the plots from other films, including The Exorcist and Jaws. His plagiarism was so obvious that he lost a lot of money i court over the Exorcist clone. He teamed for a while with Dick Clark, but, when sued for his Jaws clone, he fled the country to avoid the trials, and is believed to be hiding in South America.
These are among the nicest images I have seen of Uschi.

"Nailed" (2001)
A struggling writer (Brad Rowe) has a passion for 'wounded angels' - beautiful women with problems - and the desire to be a father. Problems start when he gets Ms Dysfunctional (Rachel Blanchard) - she won't talk or kiss but is great in bed - pregnant. Awaiting impending fatherhood allows his to agonise as his relationship with the father (Harvey Keitel) he idolises and wishes to emulate. There are strong performances from the lead actors and any movie that has three sex scenes in the first ten minutes can't be bad even if the film is very dark and the DVD transfer is atrocious.
Rachel Blanchard appears in four sex scenes but doesn't show a lot. A breast patch is visible in one scene (link #7) but not in the scene where the face and body don't appear together (links 3-6). There maybe nipple exposure in links 10 and 11 but the scene was extremely dark and impossible to brighten
Lori Heuring shows the side of her breast in a sex scene before disappearing after five minutes.
