Turks Fruit (1973) was just released in the US as Turkish Delight, a perfect translation of Turks Fruit into English of the candy known in Turkey as Lokum. Think of this film as "Love Story" European edition, but with more honesty, more passion, and a whole lot more exposure. It was directed by Paul Verhoeven and was voted the best Dutch film of the 20th century by Nederlands Film Festival. It marked the debut of Monique van de Ven in the female lead, and is likely Rutger Hauer's best performance in the male lead. We have tons of full-frontal, both male and female.

I did not have time to produce composite images tonight, nor is this my full review. To wet your appetite for what is to come, I have uploaded some representative frames, and index's of them. The Leading Man. Oh, no. The ol' substituting the real gun for the stage prop trick. I do say, my dear Nigel! Oldest trick in the book. Mediocre film from a director (John Duigan) capable of better. Bon Jovi was praised for his work here, but I think people must have been comparing his performance to their low expectations, because I thought he was kind of drippy in a role that Clooney would have chewed up and spit out. Bon Jovi has done better in other films, when he didn't have to deliver half of the dialogue.

The Proposal. Tuna was right, in that this film was too good not to be released somewhere, but I didn't enjoy it as much as he did. No flesh.

Short synopsis...a high school jock (played by 30 year old Billy Warlock) senses something peculiar about his family's behavior as his sister's debutante ball gets closer. Turns out his sister and his mom and dad are actually members of an ancient prehuman race that love incest, have highly malleable bodies (like Mr. Fantastic) and love to eat non-cooked humans in the most disgusting manner possible (these folk make hyenas and even Komodo dragons look dainty). Y'know...I keep reading about the cannibalism in this movie but if they're not human then it's not cannibalism, correct? Anyway they have an orgy (nothing worth capping) and eat some people. Here's Patrice getting her tits groped up by some old fat guy. I bet after this she felt show biz just ain't worth it and went back to waitressing at Stuckey's.

The Naked News II - "NYPD Blue" star Andrea Thompson left acting for TV news and is now a CNN Headline News anchor. But now, the Internet is awash in stills of a nude scene from one of her early movies and an arty, topless shoot she did for "Black & White" magazine. Thompson said she makes no apologies for her past creative decisions as an artist, and CNN stood behind her. Critics charged that she has no journalistic qualifications and CNN only hired her to boost ratings, which worked.

One rumor I read stated that CNN was going to fire Thompson for violating a morality clause in her contract. Supposedly even smoking can get you canned. But of course, titties bring much better ratings than smoking, so we'll just see about that.
