"Wild Things" deluxe edition
Wild Things (1998) deluxe edition. This is one of those few films that Scoop and I, who have very similar tastes, completely disagree on. He was too busy enjoying it to worry about the plot problems. I was turned off to the film early on. First we see Denese Richards try to seduce Matt Dillon at his home after washing his car. We see her leave quickly, obviously a scorned woman. Nobody but us sees this performance, but it is what convinces us that Dillon is, in fact, innocent, until after the trial. I can excuse continuity errors, logic errors, and even some visible crew or equipment, but a director fooling me with a deliberate visual lie will ruin a film for me ever time. From that point on, there was no reason to pay attention to plot points, because any or all of them could also have been deliberate lies, and, in fact, some of them were.
There is a lot of new breasts exposure from Denise Richards in this edition. After watching the Theresa Russel scene several times, frame by frame, I am convinced that the breasts we see are not hers. Not only don't we see face and breast in the same frame, but she totally disappears from frame after the breast exposure. The cleavage shown earlier is worth seeing, though.
Most of you will probably enjoy this, and I could have had the director not presented the previously mentioned lies. C-.

More important, Angel Heart is one sexy, sleazy movie, and Cosby

Kevin Spacey may or may not have been assaulted and robbed in
London. Odd stuff. He gave the police a story, then
withdrew it. The whole incident is fishy, if you ask me. Spacey

some sense if he had a poodle, but Spacey owns a Lab. You have to

Strayed. Set in 1940 at the beginning of France’s
occupation by the Germans, the recently widowed Odile (Emmanuelle
Béart) is a young, beautiful mother fleeing Paris with her two
young children in tow. When German planes bomb the road filled
with refugees, Odile’s car is destroyed, and she flees into the
woods with her children. They encounter Yvan, a 17 year-old
illiterate delinquent whose survival skills and charm soon prove
indispensable. After spending a night in the open, the four
fugitives stumble upon an abandoned house and Yvan breaks in.
Empty of its inhabitants, the house becomes a desert island
paradise and the setting for a makeshift family. Odile, at once
suspicious of and attracted to the mysterious stranger, soon finds

Perhaps these tips will help if you have trouble
with the codecs for these movies:
FYI when I hypercam vids to make the file size smaller I use
DivX MPEG-4 Fast-Motion for the video compressor, then I use
virtualdub to compress the audio. The properties for the
vids says the video codec: DivX Decoder Filter & audio
codec: Morgan Stream Switcher which I'm not familiar with.
When I compress the audio with virtualdub I use MPEG
Layer-3. A friend of mine told me about compressing the
audio about (6) mos. ago. Like I said previously, only been
capping for a year & a half & I'm no expert. Hopefully this
info will help members with the proper codecs for my vids.
When I cap big brother's I use hypercam mostly & sdp &
asfrecorder if the set up allows me. I stopped using
camtasia cause the file sizes were always too big, could
never figure out the process, over my head lol, plus it cost
too much to buy in my opinion.
A reader says:
You mentioned that some users were
having trouble with the videos on your site. There is a tool
designed to determine what codec is needed for a video.
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ Hope this is useful to you
or your users.
I made the .wmv versions of each video. The codecs for these: Windows Video V8, Windows Audio 9.
The upside of these is that you know the codecs, and they'll play in
the Windows Media Player. The downside is that they are slightly
larger, and slightly lower quality.
