This is a mini-series that aired in Canada a year ago, then later on ABC. A
very short mini-series. The total running time for this uncut version is 184
minutes, which is actually about 40 minutes SHORTER than the DVD cut of the
Heston version! And this version brings absolutely nothing new to the table. I
don't remember the original that well, but from what I do remember, some of
these scenes are identical line-by-line to the Charlton Heston version.
Therefore, watching this is equivalent to watching a dinner theater version of a
When you see a local version of Camelot, you know it's the same lines that
were spoken and sung by Julie Andrews, Richard Burton and Robert Goulet, but
it's nowhere near as good. Same deal here. Exactly. Except that some of the
actors in this show couldn't even pass muster in dinner theater.
In terms of the nudity, I really don't know exactly how this unrated version
is different from what aired on ABC, but I think we can wager that these nude
scenes did not air on the network's broadcast:
