Al Sur de Grananda (2003) is a biopic of Gerald Brenan, one of the Bloomsbury Group, and one of Carrington's suitors. When it became obvious that his infatuation with her was vexing Ralph Partridge, he walked to southern Spain, figuring adventure was the next best thing to having Carrington. Spain was as exotic as he could afford. He embraced the culture, and the poor but beautiful Verónica Sánchez, including getting her pregnant, then returned to England when he heard that Lytton Strachey was very ill. Strachey's death was followed by Carrington's suicide, and Don Geraldo didn't return to Spain for three years, and when he did, he had an English wife in tow. He understood ad embraced the Spanish culture to such an extent, that he is a very popular historical character there.

Unlike Carrington, which I found boring as hell, this film was made as a lively comedy, and showed some of the lust that was central to the Bloomsbury group. It was beautifully filmed, Verónica Sánchez got completely naked repeatedly, and we also had full frontal and rear nudity from Sauce Ena, and breasts and buns from Bebe Rebolledo. IMDb readers have it at 6.5 of 10. It has not been released in any form in the US. I screened a Region 2 PAL from Spain. This was a biopic that is not only strong technically, but also has entertainment value, hence a strong B-.

Uncovered (1994):

Tuna and I covered this movie here. He liked it better than I did, but we both found it to be a pretty good watch. One of the primary reasons was the existence of  three nude scenes from Kate Beckinsale, who stopped getting naked then and there. Old School (2002):

Tuna and I covered this movie here. Tuna didn't much care for this one, but I think it is one of the Top 10 comedies so far in the new millennium. Will Farrell finally found the right role, and he nailed it. This scene is the infamous KY wrestling scene with Corinne Kingsbury and Lisa Donatz, so let's get ready to rumble ...

The all-time classics

• I can make a pretty safe guess that if you were born in the 1960s, this is your favorite nude scene ever:  Phoebe Cates coming out of the pool in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. (.avi version,  .wmv version).

FYI when I hypercam vids to make the file size smaller I use DivX MPEG-4 Fast-Motion for the video compressor, then I use virtualdub to compress the audio. The properties for the vids says the video codec:  DivX Decoder Filter & audio codec:  Morgan Stream Switcher which I'm not familiar with. When I compress the audio with virtualdub I use MPEG Layer-3.  A friend of mine told me about compressing the audio about (6) mos. ago. Like I said previously, only been capping for a year & a half & I'm no expert. Hopefully this info will help members with the proper codecs for my vids.

 

When I cap big brother's I use hypercam mostly & sdp & asfrecorder if the set up allows me. I stopped using camtasia cause the file sizes were always too big, could never figure out the process, over my head lol, plus it cost too much to buy in my opinion.

I made the .wmv versions of each video. The codecs for these: Windows Video V8, Windows Audio 9. The upside of these is that you know the codecs, and they'll play in the Windows Media Player. The downside is that they are slightly larger, and slightly lower quality.

"The Student Nurses"
If you're expecting a light Corman-like sexplotation flick, this isn't it. Yes, this 1970 effort is a youth sexplotation movie to a degree, but it takes itself so seriously that the tone is different. It's still plenty funny, however, without meaning to be.

Four student nurses about to graduate face all the trials of 1970, drugs, sex, free love, hippys, etc., and the actors, mostly bad, play it like it was Gone with the Wind. The result is often unintentionally hilarious, but it also provides a fascinating look at the 70's, complete with cliches like one doctor who always says "peace" when leaving the room. He's serious, and so is the film, which makes for a lot of laughs.
