Fur

I haven't seen the movie. Like most Kidman movies, the total box office is far lower than her salary. I think this one did about enough to cover the cost of her sunscreen. (Hey, God bless her, they keep paying her fee, and she always does a pretty good job for the money, so her presence has some aesthetic value even if it has no box office value. Can't fault her. I would take the money, same as she does.)

Fur is an imaginary story using real people as characters, specifically Allan and Diane Arbus. Allan was a commercial photographer who became an actor. You know who he is even if you don't know his name. He played Sidney the psychiatrist on the TV version of M*A*S*H. Diane was his partner in the photography business, but didn't work the camera at first. When she started manning the camera, she really got a freak on, and her own photographs became famous. She specialized in the outré - circus freaks, sexual fetishists, etc. Kinky! Her own life was said to be pretty kinky as well. She divorced Allan in 1959 and engaged in an experimental lifestyle until she killed herself in 1971. (Her real fame actually happened posthumously.)

Trivia: she once photographed CNN's Anderson Cooper as a baby! Picture here

Anyway, this movie is kinky, befitting its subject. Diane falls into lust with a hairy circus freak who looks like Chewbacca (Robert Downey Junior). The plot is basically yet another version of Beauty and the Beast. Fortunately, Downey managed to get rid of the hair for the sex scene.

* Yellow asterisk: funny (maybe).

* White asterisk: expanded format.

* Blue asterisk: not mine.

No asterisk: it probably sucks.

Emanuelle Around the World

Explicit XXX European version

Emanuelle Around the World (1977) AKA, The Degradation of Emanuelle, Emanuelle - perché violenza alle donne? or Le vice dans la peau is one of the Joe D'Amato black Emanuelle series staring Laura Gemser. I covered it last November from a Russian PAL. It is now to be released by Severin on a Region 0 NTSC, and, best of all, contains an additional 8 minutes of nudity, hard core sex, concubine training, bestiality and interesting uses for a banana. It spots a better transfer than the Russian version, and a better dubbing job on the English dub. It also has an Italian soundtrack which comes with optional English subtitles.

This is one of the classier of the series, and even has a plot of sorts. Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) has run off to a tropical paradise with a man, and gotten tired of it. She comes back to work as a photo journalist. She meets an important man who travels constantly, and then is assigned to cover a sex guru who supposedly teaches the perfect orgasm. What she finds instead is a total rip-off of women, and a guru who suffers from premature ejaculation. Next, she teams with reporter Karin Schubert to break a white slavery ring that starts off in Italy and then takes them to Hong Kong. Finally, Emanuelle returns to the US, where she catches a Senator and his buddies abusing a beauty queen on the docks.

This Severin DVD is welcome as a comprehensive version of one of the best Emanuelle sequels.  Order the Degradation of Emanuelle DVD here, or click on the picture below.

C+. Top of the line in vintage erotica.

Here is the entire section of "explicit sex on film" DVDs from Rare Licensed DVDs. We have found them very pleasant to deal with.

IMDb readers say 4.9 based on only 80 votes.

Laura Gemser does full frontal ...

... as does Karin Schubert ...

... and someone credited as Elisabetta Terribile as the beauty queen. Some claim she is actually Kristine DeBell, others say no. Personally, I don't think so, although there is some resemblance. However, Terribile is only credited for this film, and there is no record of her anywhere else on the Internet.

Brigitte Petronio shows breasts and bush in an early scene.

 Many unknowns show body parts in various soft and hard core scenes.

The Curse of the Komodo

Melissa Brasselle is a woman that I would love to see naked. She has appeared in lots of B-movies that you would think would call for her to show off some goodies. But no she always manages to just tease. Here is Melissa with some tease in caps and two clips from "The Curse of the Komodo". Cleavage and pokies.

Silent Night, Deadly Night

IMDB is listing a re-make of "Silent Night, Deadly Night" that is in the works. The original 1984 movie caused quite a stir back then with its portrayal of Santa Claus as a serial killer. From the original a topless Tara Buckman has her throat slit by Santa.

Almost Blue

ALMOST BLUE is a drama about jazz saxophonist Morris Poole (Michael Madsen), who blames himself for his wife's death five years earlier. Unable to play jazz and compelled to watch repeatedly a tape of his final performance before the accident, he supports himself by writing TV-commercial jingles. One day he meets Jasmine (Lynette Walden) and starts a torturous affair with her, while his old partner Icarus (Ed Battle) tries to talk him into playing a gig.

The Aussie imager Johnny Moronic came up with some great material, and assembled it well as always. First, he came up with the first really clear film clips we have seen from 300. Kelly Craig and Lena Headey. (Collages to the right.)

Then he did a variety of collages from a new version of MacBeth which features Victoria Hill as Lady MacBeth in a contemporary Australian setting (Melbourne street gangs.):

The Comedy Wire

Comments in yellow...

Saturday in Amsterdam, hundreds of gawkers lined up to get a rare look at the red light district in the daylight.  To combat rumors of drug deals and forced prostitution, sex workers declared an "open day" and came in early to show visitors what the business is like and let women see that "it's not a big deal" if their husbands or boyfriends want to come there.  Visitors were given guided tours and allowed to look all around, from peeking behind the curtains at a peep show to bouncing on a prostitute's mattress.

*  That was the children's favorite part.

Joe Francis, who's built an empire off drunk chicks flashing their boobs, announced plans to launch a chain of "Girls Gone Wild" theme restaurants.  The first ones will open in Mexican resorts, then spread to US college towns. Francis said guys will hang out there, but so will
women who want to feel sexy, exciting and edgy.  He said, "This is going to be about fun, lifestyle, youth, sun.  It's about everything 'Girls Gone Wild. It's going to be sexy without being sexual."  That means there will be no stripping, topless waitresses or filming in the restaurants.

*  So it's about everything "Girls Gone Wild," except filming topless chicks.  Which leaves what, exactly?

Sunday night at Wrestlemania's "Battle of the Billionaires" in Detroit. a WWE wrestler representing Donald Trump defeated one representing WWE boss Vince McMahon, so Trump got to cut off McMahon's hair.  But that's not all Trump did in the "sports entertainment" event.  At one point, he leaped up and drove McMahon to the ground, pummeling him with his fists; and later, guest referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin drove Trump's head into his shoulder, and the crowd roared as Trump's "injury" was tended to.

*  Enough of this fake violence!  Let's get him in the ring with Rosie O'Donnell!

On this day in 1902, the first movie theater opened in Los Angeles.  It was called the Electric Theater, it cost 10 cents, and it was in
a circus tent.
