Donnybrook is a thriller about two men who are on a self-destructive path to a no-holds barred 'donnybrook' for $100,000. Jarhead Earl (Jamie Bell) is desperately trying to keep his family together so he robs a gun store and when he gets back, he finds his mother buying drugs from Chainsaw Angus (Frank Grillo) and gets into a fight with him which almost leads to Chainsaw killing Jarhead Earl. Chainsaw is a drug dealer/maker with his somewhat simple sister Delia (Margaret Qualley) who has fallen for her brother much to his disgust. Chainsaw bashes one cohort and gets Delia to finish him off but when Chainsaw rejects Delia, she shoots him and runs away. A wounded Chainsaw brutalises his way to finding his sister and Jarhead Earl, who is on his way to the donnybrook with his much younger brother while Delia later hitches a ride. A cop Whalen (James Badge Dale) is one the trail of Chainsaw and Jarhead Earl. They are all going to end up with facing off with one another whether it's in or out of the cage.

Nasty and just plain ugly movie with very little to redeem it. All characters are revolting (which is not a bad thing, see The Favourite) and do revolting things, mostly extremely unnecessary violence and then the movie ends in the cheering on of such extreme violence. I'm not sure I get the point of the movie but then nothing much seems to matter throughout. Thank fuck for some Margaret Qualley full frontal nudity because there's nothing else to recommend it. Terrible ...
