Louis Malle film about a woman who is engaged to
one man and having an affair with another. So
what's the dramatic tension? The lover is the dad
of the fiancee! Jeremy Irons, as always, is the
dirty old man. Binoche, as always, goes through
the entire movie looking like she is just one
second away from bursting into tears. Gabby
Hayes, as always, is the crusty old sidewinder.
Oh, wait a minute, Gabby is the one example of
cliche casting they missed, but it's a powerful
movie with some energetic sex scenes. It isn't an
