Freaks
of Nature
(2015)
Freaks
of Nature is a horror
comedy where in the town
of Dillford, humans live
alongside vampires and
zombies and it is
generally peaceful. At the
high school, three human
students are about to come
together to save the town,
they just don't know it
yet. Ned (Josh Fadem) is a
nerd who gets no respect
at school or his family so
he decides to get bitten
by his zombie friend so he
can become a zombie. Petra
(Mackenzie Davis) wants to
have sex with head vampire
at the school Milan (Ed
Westwick), but he instead
bites her and turns her
into a vampire so that she
can be his forever. Dag
(Nicholas Braun) is
pitching for the school's
B baseball team and
accidentally knocks out
their star hitter which
inadvertently bumps him up
pecking order for having
sex with Lorelei (Vanessa
Hudgens), which is an
unexpected bonus. Then,
the aliens arrive and
everyone/everything loses
their minds and start
attacking one another.
Forced together by
circumstance, Ned, now a
zombie, Petra, now a
vampire and Dag decide to
come up with a plan to
stop the aliens. If only
they can get
everyone/everything else
on side.
Fun movie but doesn't
really explain the concept
of all the monsters living
in harmony and not wanting
to kill each other plus
the alien angle is pretty
weak. Probably best
enjoyed by ignoring
explanations and focusing
on the ridiculousness of
the scenario, where
there's plenty of laughs
and general silliness.
