"Women of the Night" (2000)

I have no idea what Zalman King was thinking of when he made this. I am normally a fan of his, but this is the most pretentious, and least erotic thing he has ever attempted. Sally Kellerman is a night DJ, and introduces her niece, who runs a pirate radio station in the back of an 18 wheeler. The niece tells the story of 3 women (one of them being her), as one of her colleagues sings songs that Zallman owns the rights to. The three women in the tales are an heiress, a comedienne and a law student. The law student has a crush on her boss and is something of a voyeur. The comedienne is offered a role in a film that requires nudity, and isn't sure she is up to it. The heiress is the daughter of a drug lord who killed her mother, her brother, and her boyfriend. So, the entire film is voice-over, competing with music that is too loud.

There is actually not that much exposure, although I produced a lot of images. There were a lot of women who briefly got naked, both identified and anonymous. To make things even tougher, the film is dark and grainy, and Zalman uses the same dissolves, quick cuts and strange lighting that Red Shoe Diaries is full of. Very little information is available on line. Apollo hated it, and I agree completely.

I looked at Desert Hearts, one of the great lesbian classics. You know they must be lesbians because it's 1955 and they smoke cigarettes and wear sunglasses.

I looked at Foxy Brown, possibly the best of the Pamsploitation films, but not one with much of Pam's flesh. I didn't do the minor characters because Tuna covered them thoroughly.

    "Elephant Juice" (1999)

This British movie written by the highly rated Amy Jenkins attempts to examine the relationships and loves of a group of thirty-something friends in London. The film sets out to examine when it is possible to tell some you love them and if it is possible to have just one love. The group comprises of three couples . Jules and Will, Daphne and Frank, Graham and George - and Billy (Sean Gallagher), a believer in instant love. Billy has been single for so long that his friends fear that he has lost the ability to form a relation with a woman.

Billy appears to have struck gold when he notices Dodie (Kimberly Williams), an American single-mother, coffee bar waitress and amateur philosopher in a park. His initial attempts at initiating a relationship are unsuccessful but eventually Billy and Dodie get together. He fails to convey his love for her and is left to question the worth of his life when she suddenly returns to America to avoid custody problems over her son.

Jules (Emmanuelle Beart) is having cold feet about her impending marriage to Will (Daniel Lapaine). Her fears are well founded as he is cheating with Daphne and resorting to "direct-debit" sex (prostitutes).

The plot development is poor and consequently the film is very disjointed.

There is inadequate character and dialogue development, with too many instances of characters staring into the distance when dialogue is essential. Jules visits the prostitute frequented by Will but says nothing. The many dinners involving the group would have been the ideal platform for plot development but none takes place. The poor plot causes the film to drift . the prolonged and rather pointless drug snorting scene between Graham and George being a prime example. Ultimately the film drifts into obscurity.

Amy Jenkins was one of the hottest literary properties in England at the time of production following the success of her BBC TV series "This Life". However, Jenkins joins the long list of British writers who have failed to graduate from TV to big-screen writing.

Kimberly Williams is a good actress and her beauty makes it easily apparent why Billy fell in love at first sight. Emmanuelle Beart is a good actress but isn't given the opportunity to showcase her talents and is too often left to stare at railway platforms. Sean Gallagher is convincing in his role as a likeable if slightly over-romantic single.

This movie will be remembered for Kimberly Williams. first nude appearance.

Nudity...Kimberly Williams is briefly topless in a somewhat distant sex scene. However this is her first topless scene. Kate Gartside is topless in longer sex scene.

IMDB rates this 5.2 with 10 votes.

All three ladies showing the goods in 1994's "Road to Wellville". Fans of Anthony Hopkins will enjoy this movie for his outstanding, and quite nutty performance as a turn of the century health guru with a penchant for enemas. Other than that there are a few chuckles here and there, but for the most part the talented cast is wasted.

    Cindy Pielstroom Full dorsal nudity.

Models and cleavage and swimsuits, Oh My!

The SI swimsuit issue will be hitting newsstands soon, and in that tradition, Uco offers an excellent collection of images from something called "Swimsuit 2000". Every one of these is full of beautiful ladies and lots of cleavage!

    Enjoy.

NWAR scanned these from the latest Gear. I agree with his comments, these aren't exactly the most exciting images of Niki on the web, but I'm sure the fans will enjoy. #1 is has the most skin.

    Patsy Kensit
    (1, 2, 3)

Another look at Patsy's recent topless appearance in Arena magazine. These are a little smaller than previous versions, but I think the color balance is a little better here. As if color really matters...what's really important is that the new boobs look fantastic!

Posing fully nude in the Italian GQ. #1 and #3 tease, and #2 shows some nipple exposure.
