Had never seen The Crush before and to be honest it's nothing special, another to add to the teen stalker genre although I doubt that they would make Alicia Silverstone's character 14 years old nowadays like they did in this movie. This also reminds me that I remember seeing Hideaway in cinemas in 1996 and there was an 'Introducing Alicia Silverstone' credit in that movie which made me laugh because I saw Clueless the previous year and that's even without mentioning this 1993 release (which admittedly went straight-to-video here in Australia).

The Faculty

My only memories from watching The Faculty back in the day was that Josh Hartnett played the cool kid, Laura Harris has a nude scene (of course I'd remember this) and was the host alien and that it was made by Kevin Williamson, the Scream guy and I completely blanked that Robert Rodriguez actually directed it in a rare movie he hasn't recently rehashed. Also blanked on Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster and a host of other fairly well known actors turn up in this (oh and of course Salma Hayek being a Rodriguez movie and all). The movie is strangely lacking the humour that both Williamson and Rodriguez are known for, which I was surprised by although there are some funny moments mostly involving Robert Patrick's psychotic football coach. Apart from that, it's played more serious than I remembered. Also has a strange plot device where the only way to tell whether someone is human or alien is by sniffing some homemade speed concoction which would've went down well back in the day. Hmm...
