Many people feel that this film was unfairly snubbed by the Oscars. Both BAFTA and The Golden Globes nominated it for as the best film not in English, but Oscar did not. It absolutely kills on Rotten Tomatoes- 98% from critics and 89% from audiences. Parasite did slightly better, (99/94), but this film may have achieved the second-highest composite score of the year, excluding animated films (Toy Story 4 is at 97/94).

"Portrait ..." would not have won the International Film Oscar with Parasite in the race, but it probably deserved to be there.
