"The Five Senses" (2000)

Scoopy wrote an excellent review of The Five Senses (2000) which is available at www.scoopy.com, and which I agree completely with. This is definitely an art house film, but I see that as a good thing. I don't believe Scoopy mentioned the large number of classical references to art and music. See Molly Parker 1 for an amazing interpretation of Madonna and Child as an example. The entire film is more about characters and moods then story anyway. It's strength is in film making, but not story telling. The director shows real ability to let us learn about the characters as they learn about themselves, rather than in some narrative form. I look forward to his next effort.

    "Alice's Restaurant" (1969)

You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant (1969). So begins Arlo Guthrie's autobiographical song, The Alice's Restaurant Massacre, which was adapted into a screenplay. This is the only case I can think of where a song was adapted into a film. It is explicitly the story of how Arlo (son of legendary Woody Guthrie) got out of the draft. The film goes into more detail about Ray and Alice, the church they live in, and the assortment of late 60's hippies that Ray and Alice call family. Contrary to popular myth, you can remember the 60s even if you were there, and this film is complete nostalgia for me. The attitudes, language, dress, and public reaction to those who looked a little "funky" really bring those moments back.

Arlo played himself in the film. The exposure was from a young groupie who wanted to sleep with Arlo after an open mike gig, because she thought he would "be an album some day." The groupie was played by Shelley Plimpton, probably best known as mother of Martha Plimpton, but also known for her appearance in the Broadway version of Hair singing the song "Frank Mills." The DVD transfer is done by Image Entertainment, which is always good news. While there are still some dirt and lint artifacts from what was obviously a weak original, they did their usual great job. The DVD contains a feature length commentary with Arlo Guthrie. Watch for an appearance by Pete Seeger. If you lived the 60s, or are curious about them, get in your red VW microbus and head to Alice's - not the restaurant, the church - for a thanksgiving dinner that can't be beat. Steer clear of Officer Obie.

    NEW RELEASES:

I breezed through the VHS of Solomon and Gaenor (2000) (no review at this time), the story of a Jewish guy and a (Christian) Welsh woman and their doomed love just after the turn of the century. I could see that it was a serious and sensitive movie that required my concentration (some of the movie is in Welsh and Yiddish.). Moreover, it had some nudity, but not from an exceptionally famous woman, so I decided to wait until I can find a DVD and do it justice. I'll get to it next week sometime, but there is some 'cappable nudity, if any of you guys want to get it before me.

The nudity in Goya in Bordeaux (1999) is beautiful. After I saw the tape, I did order the DVD from Amazon, and I'll do these images again when it arrives, but I just had to share some of these VHS caps for now. For you other imagers - this is well worth your time for imaging, although the movie is unbearably stylized and pretentious and just plain hokey. Full frontal nudity, good light, beautiful woman (Maribel Verdu)!!

    • Verdu (1, 2, 3)

There is no nudity in Cherry Falls (2000). Lord knows why not, because it's a teen slasher film with non-stop sex and gore.

There is very minimal, unrevealing nudity in Terror Tract (2000), but you have to love any movie that stars John Ritter and features wrestler Marcus Bagwell..

    • Rachel York. Her "normal" career involves Broadway musicals. She last played Marguerite St Just in "Scarlet Pimpernel", but has also been featured in Les Miz, Evita, Chorus Line, and Victor/Victoria. I assume she must be really talented, because she didn't exactly play Aunt Eller in the Naples, Florida Dinner Theater production of Oklahoma. This lady was Eva Peron in Evita on Broadway, and received a Drama Desk award for V/V.

    CLASSICS:

Coffy is one of the better Pamsploitation films, not for the action and plot and costumes, but for the Pamiosity, of which there is mucho. Pam did a full nude from the rear (she looked great), and a full-frame topless shot, with nothing obscuring our view! They didn't do much with her hair in this film as in some of the others, so she usually had a natural Afro look, but she looked great. Tuna capped all the extras when he did the film, and you'll find them and Pam in his archive section (see the members' links page) under "Coffy", but I captured this one woman just because of the director's commentary. The director couldn't remember her name, but he did remember that she was one of the favorite models of the artist Dali, because Dali believed that she had an eerie resemblance to Marilyn Monroe.

Honte's site is updated with a new edition

    • It took long enough - when Winona got her star on the Walk of "Fame", she nearly fell out of her dress, and this is the first time I've seen a semi-revealing look. You'd think there would be much more out there, but here's what we have so far.

The Final Chapter of Volume B ( Number 11) is updated. About 80 additions just in the area after BR.

Glory be, that Mongoose has terrific taste in movies, particularly for a mustelid. His caps of Robotrix were a joy to behold. Those of Aoyama Chikako stirred something within me. No, I mean a vague memory of having scanned some pics of her... before the dawn of time, as it turns out. Well, at least before the time I realized that image quality was affected by the degree of compression. Okay, I hear all of you laughing. Not all of us were born infinitely knowledgeable, you know. Tried to make amends with time-consuming touch-up work and that is why the only things I have to offer today are scans of the lovely Aoyama. Anything for you and the boys, Junior.

Dann's DVD 'caps from the movie "Jesus' Son". Here is a link to Scoop's summary.
    Hugo
    Debra Winger
    (1, 2, 3, 4)

Crystal clear 'caps of Debra's love scene with the Richard Gere from "An Officer and a Gentleman".

    Tatjana Patitz
    (1, 2)

The model and actress looking quite nice in these fully and partially nude scenes from "Rising Sun".

    Rebecca Romijn
    (1, 2)
Looking very hot in her fully mutated form in these 'caps from "X-Men".

Monica Bellucci Brief partial breast exposure and a nice bit of bum cleavage in vidcaps from "Under Suspicion". Now my question is what happened with this movie? I surfed over to the IMDb to research this nude scene and here's what I discovered...
  • An all star cast including Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, Thomas Jane, and of course the lovely Ms. Bellucci.
  • A budget of $25 million
  • Produced and Directed by Stephen Hopkins, who also wore both hats for his last movie..."Lost in Space". "Lost in Space" wasn't exactly a failure...With an $80 million budget, it made 70 domestic, and 50 overseas, not counting video.

So again, what happened? Why did this puppy only get a limited release? Who knows. The reviews seem pretty well mixed, but the overall consensus is that Hackman and Freeman give great performances, and it's an OK movie.

    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

    Iben Hjejle bonus

    Catherine Zeta Jones

    Joelle Carter

Scenes from High "Fidelity", comments by C2000:

To begin...Iben Hjejle has a couple of "imaginary" sex scenes in the movie but there is no real exposure. The bonus collage by SwedeCaps however, includes full frontal exposure from "Nogen"

Catherine Zeta Jones shows a bit of partial side breast exposure in the movie.

And Joelle Carter, another of Cusack's exes, reveals no skin whatsoever.

    Ashley Judd
    (1, 2)
From "Eye of the Beholder". Far off frontal and posterior views in #1. Topless in the tub 'caps in #2.
    and ...
    Gigi Edgley
    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

A super find by Aussie. Gigi is best known to Sci-Fi dudes as Chiana on "Farscape". All but #5 and #6 feature Gigi topless. #5 is a full dorsal pose, and #6 is fully nude, with out the goodies.

    Amy Yip
    (1, 2, 3)
Looks like Mongoose hit a nerve yesterday with his 'caps of sexy Asian babes, and I am not complaining one bit!

Yesterday, Mongoose pointed out that Amy Yip is well known as a nude movie babe, but has only actually revealed the goods in one movie...and here it is! Vidcaps from "Sex and Zen", by AP.

    Katherine Heigl
    (1, 2)
Two collages of Katherine's nude bum from the Euro-version of 1997's "Price Valiant".

Blaze Starr An excellent tribute collage by ZonononZor.

Natacha Régnier Topless and frontal nudity from the Belgian actress in vidcaps from "Tout va bien, on s'en va", by Freakie.

    Sharon Stone and Ellen Degeneres
    (1, 2, 3, 4)
That's right folks...it's Sharon and Ellen gettin' it on and showing some goodies in "If These Walls Could Talk 2". I think Scoop, Tuna, and I have each offered our opinions and agree on this one...The first two segments of the movie are very good however, the last segment with Stone and Degeneres, is kinda lame.

    My suggestions:

  • Segment 1...Contains of the most touching pieces ever filmed regarding on the difficulties of being gay in the 1950's. Watch it to see Vanessa Redgrave's brilliant performance (glad to see that she won the Golden Globe for this, she really did deserve it).
  • Segment 2...Chloë Sevigny is great as a Fonzie-esque butch lesbian, and Michelle Williams of course shows off her fabulous breasts
  • Segment 3...Skip it. You've already seen the best parts of the movie. Plus we have the vidcaps of the nudity right here.
