Open Water



Scoop's Notes: Chris Kentis, who wrote and directed the surprise hit Open Water in 2003, has not directed a theatrical release since, but his follow-up, Silent House, is now playing at Sundance. I don't know anything about it. I'm surprised he hasn't been actively courted by Hollywood. Profit is the name of the game, after all, and Open Water grossed $30 million on a budget of $500,000. Somebody made a lot of profit on that puppy.

As I've noted before, Blanchard Ryan didn't get any work from this movie either. She didn't work for the next two years, and has never really picked up another juicy role.
