"Death Wish" (1974)
Death Wish (1974) stars Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, New York architect and bleeding heart liberal. When his wife is murdered and his daughter raped by thugs in his own apartment, he takes justice into his own hands. The police have a dilemma, however. With Kersey playing vigilante, the
crime rate drops suddenly and dramatically. This film spawned 4 sequels, none nearly as good as the first. Watch for Jeff Goldblum in his film debut as one of the perpetrators. Kathleen Tolan of Ryan's Hope fame provided the exposure during an especially violent and graphic rape scene. In my
opinion, the rape had to be portrayed this way to gain audience sympathy for Kersey's actions. Music was by Herbie Hancock.
Maltin awards three stars, which seems to be the consensus among critics. IMDB readers have it at 6.1, which is a little low in my opinion. This is decidedly not a good date film. In many ways, it is like a classic Western -- real bad bad guys, and real good good guys, and most people root for the good guy in this film.

"Bandits" (1997)
Bandits (1997) is essentially 109 minutes of German rock video with subtitles. Four female prisoners form a band called the Bandits, escape, then become a hit while eluding police. I am not a rock fan and I never watch MTV, so you are probably assuming I hated this film. Actually, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery, music that was kind of a cross between rock and Jazz/Blues, and attractive women were part of the appeal. The plot, although very simple, managed some tension, and the personality of the band members made the high energy rock video approach very appropriate. Jasmin Tabatabai has a steamy sex scene rolling in the mud in the rain with a hostage near the end of the film. Note that she wrote many of the songs, and the cast actually sings in the soundtrack.
Think of it as Thelma and Louise meet MTV. Though definitely a film about VERY strong women, the feminist message does not detract from the enjoyment. Apollo gives it 82, with Apollo readers even higher at 8.9. IMDB readers say 7.9. The film has a huge international following, and an Official Web site. Bandits is definitely worth the watch.

I did Friday Foster, a Pamploitation film from 1975. They finally figured out that if they put Pam in nice clothes and
stylish hairstyles, and then removed those clothes once in a while, they could make a passable entertainment with a minimum of effort. Features about every black actor of the time, from Godfrey Cambridge to Scatman Crothers to pre-Apollo Carl Weathers, and everyone in between. Even Eartha Kitt, doing her exact same purring from Batman!
Graphic Response did The King of
Marvin Gardens. To see my collages, check out the May 13, 2000 edition. they are some of the best I've ever done. (No thanks to me, really. It just happened to be an exquisitely filmed movie)

PICKING OUR OWN OSCARS:
Forget those friggin' performances. Here's the key issue - what were the best nude scenes in the Year 2000?

Golden Globe OTHER FACTS:
- The Oscars and Globes agree on Best Picture about 60% of the time.
- HOWEVER - every Golden Globe Best Drama has been nominated for an
Oscar in the past 30 years, even Bugsy and The Turning Point, which were probably the worst choices the Globes ever made. Gladiator, therefore, looks like a shoo-in for an Oscar nod.
- Of the 12 times they have disagreed since 1972, the Oscars have made a better choice 4 times, the Globes only once, the other seven debatable.
- If those 12 instances, there were three cases where they were both obviously wrong. They both
missed Star Wars, Raiders, and Henry V. (Of course, they were both wrong some years when they
agreed as well.)
- among the top 2000 titles, the highest-ranking at IMDb are now (in order) Crouching Tiger, Requiem for a Dream, Traffic, Almost Famous, Gladiator, Dancer in the Dark, Billy Elliott.
I am still assuming that Crouching Tiger will get best foreign-language film, so the four sure nominees seem likely to be: Traffic, Almost Famous, Gladiator, Billy Elliott. I don't know about the fifth. The most deserving would probably be Chicken Run, but I just don't know if the academy will go that way. There are some good choices: High Fidelity, Wonder Boys, Cast Away, O Brother, and Erin Brockovich, to name a few. The historical trend would favor Cast Away, but maybe the academy will surprise us.

1972 |
Godfather |

1973 |
The Exorcist |
The Sting |
Both memorable, lasting pictures. I call it a
draw. |
1974 |
Chinatown |
Godfather, Part 2 |
Both brilliant, lasting pictures, arguably two of the best ever. I call it a draw. |
1975 |
Cuckoo's Nest |
|
|
1976 |
Network |
Rocky |
Network probably the better picture, but Rocky the more lasting and memorable cultural artifact. I call it a draw. |
1977 |
The Turning Point |
Annie Hall |
Both wrong. I love Woody, but it's now obvious that Star Wars was the picture of the year. Annie Hall was a good choice, however, while The Turning Point is a forgotten snoozefest, so score one for the Oscars. The Globes didn't even pick Annie Hall as best comedy (Goodbye Girl)! |
1978 |
Coming Home |
The Deer Hunter |
score one for the Oscars! |

1980 |
Ordinary People |

1981 |

Chariots of Fire |
Both madly deluded choices. Neither is any good at all. Raiders of the Lost Ark was obviously best picture, by such a wide margin that there can be no debate. |

Neither film especially good. No clear cut winner that year. The best picture was probably
Branagh's Henry V, which wasn't even nominated by the Oscars, or Glory. |
1990 |
Dances With Wolves |
|
|
1991 |
Bugsy |
Silence of the Lambs |

Close call. I rate it a draw. |
1993 |
Schindler's List |
|
|
1994 |
Forrest Gump |
|
Both wrong, of course. Gump is a good film, but in the view of history, the best picture was
either Shawshank or Pulp Fiction, depending on your taste. Both are in the all-time top 20 at IMDb. |
1995 |
Sense and Sensibility |
Braveheart |
Oscar's choice the better of the two. The Globes love Ang Lee. |

So what's my streak in finding something to post? At least from the beginning of the year, yes? There is treasure everywhere you look, and to prove it I am sending in an Ursula Andress scan. A new Ursula Andress scan. Turned up in a mid-60's pinup mag. Not the best photography or paper, but it's Ursula in her damn prime, and son it just don't get any better than that.
Then there is Blackshine. Thought of offering him a bribe, say 100 Hershey bars in unmarked wrappers, to give Kate Moss a rest. But I like Kate and really like the scans. Onliest problem? A couple dozen Kates threatens to lower the booby average under the dreaded Mendoza Line. I have the cure. Four new ones of the most impressive chest I have seen: Roberta Pedon.
(1,

4) Now we're back up to a Hall of Fame average.
Lastly, there is the movie Meatballs 4. They made four Aliens movies and the fourth one sucked. They made four Star Wars and the fourth one sucked. But when they made four Meatballs movies they got it right with the last one. I know Meatballs, the original has Bill Murray and the best young
camper humor ever filmed. Two and Three? Never saw em. Don't know anyone who did. With Meatballs 4 they hit the perfect formula: Kristi Ducati (1,
2), two shower scenes (one with Kristi Ducati), a strip charades scene (with Kristi Ducati), two naked former bunnymag mates (one of them the delicious Christy Thom), perennial nekkid person Lauren Hays and a little surprise with a topless Paige French. The Kristi and Paige scenes require no further explanation, but a few of collages do.
The Lauren Hays scene ain't much, as she and two other babes (including Kristi Ducati) strip down to their BVD's. Lauren gets outta hers. Fine, this is the first part of what should be a seamless sequence.
Next we see Kristi for sure (blue towel) and four others, including bunnymag person Neriah Davis in a nekkid scene only by the strictest definition. I figure the group should also include Lauren Hays and Miche Straub 'cuz they were undressing with Kristi in the scene before. Follow me so far? (By the way the names in the movie are a hoot. Lauren plays a character name Lauren, Miche a character named Miche and Neriah and a character named Neriah. Where do they come up with these names?).
Next two collages are from the shower. Should be the same girls that walked TO the shower, right? Which means you should find Kristi, and you do (those are the shower pics of her). And you should find Lauren, Miche and Neriah. Now, I wouldn't know Miche from paper mache but I sorta, kinda know what Neriah and Lauren look like. And are they in the shower? I don't think so.

We get four babes, two with seriously nice bods and one with a righteously cute bod, but I haven't a clue who any of em is. Spent way too much time trying to figure it out and so now I'm pissed.
By now you're asking, "Where's Cristy Thom?" Patience, gentlemen.

How ya doin everybody! I decided to go nuts with The Rocky Horror Picture Show tonight. One of my favorite movies.
I capped a small collage of Nell Campbell (Little Nell) when I first started out at this, back when all I had was a 2 head VCR and a parallel port Snappy box. Now that the DVD is here, I decided to do give Rocky Horror another try. I have never seen a really good and complete set of caps from the movie, and I figured there must be more than myself who wants to see it. I have been waiting patiently for Tuna to do it for long enough lol.
After 6 hours and 20 coffee's, here is what I came up with.

Scene from "Striptease". No matter what people have said about this movie, you must give Demi full credit for authenticity! She definitely looks like a good chunk of the strippers I know, and no that's not the famous Scoopy sarcasm, I really know about 15 girls that look just like Demi from the neck down. I know the boobs are store bought...perhaps the whole package is?

More of Martina's "nude shower scene". Whyscan brought it to our attention a couple of days ago. As it turns out, it's a commercial for some kind of body wash or something.

Mega cleavage from Xena's lesbo sidekick. Many readers may remember that I used to be a big fan of "Xena" until about 2 years ago when they started to write really stupid stories (like dying and coming back to life every other episode). But lately I've started watching it again. Not for the stories-they still stink- but rather because in this, their final season...they have even more hot, half-nekkid chicks showing more skin than ever before!
