Affluenza
is a drama set in the
early days of the 2008
Global Financial Crisis.
Fisher Miller (Ben
Rosenfield) comes to Long
Island to live at his
uncle and aunty's place
while he tries to get into
college to further his
love of photography.
Through his cousin Kate
(Nicola Peltz), he is
introduced to the other
rich kids in her social
circle and it helps that
he has access to a primo
stash of marijuana that
the kids all want. He gets
invited to all the
parties, girls actually
want him including Kate's
best friend Jody
(Valentina de Angelis).
But over time it becomes
clear that he is more and
more out of his depth even
as the financial bubble
bursts and it starts to
take effect.
Another one of those "rich
kids are vapid and
can't/won't interact with
those lesser than them"
stories, this one ambles
along with barely any plot
and not a lot to say
except the predictable.
Watchable but ultimately
fairly forgettable.
Did
Kristin Booth really
give a handjob to a
guy in the first
season of Paradise
Falls?
Answer:
Yes.
Nothing is really
showing, but it was
considered quite
explicit in 2001, Today
it's standard cable
fare. I had to
blow a lot of dust off
an old computer to
retrieve this relic of
the old narrow-band,
dial-up days.
