East Coast Grindhouse: Part 5

Okay, back to Doris Wishman.  In the movie, The Sex Perils of Paulette (1965), Darlene Bennett carries most of the exposure load, which amounts to some bum and lots of cleavage but the nipple barely makes an appearance (light work for Darlene). 

Another actress, Anna Karol, plays the title character of Paulette.  Though she walks ‘round in underwear and takes a long bubble bath, we get to see maybe three frames of exposure, tops.  And a Black woman I recognize from other appearances but whose name I do not know, also gives up very little while stripping at a party.  Tis an awful lot of time to spend for so little payoff.  I cannot imagine the guys who came to see this one in the grind houses of that day were the least bit happy with the time and money they spent.

Anna’s appearance in Sex Perils had me look for a movie in which she might have been more generous to her audience.  Found it.

Confessions of a Bad Girl

(1965)

This film stars the uber-cutie, Judy Adler, as a gal new to the big city, looking for gainful employment as a nude model.  Guess that makes her bad. 

 

The movie also has Darlene Bennett’s twin sister, Dawn,

... and the under-appreciated grindhouse actress, Marlene Starr, working the same trade, so we get to see their charms.

Several uncredited, unknown actresses play nude models, all of whom are quite attractive. 

But back to the point: early on the proceedings, there is Anna Karol in her birthday suit, posing on a couch and then standing up to stretch.  Yes, indeed she looks mah-velous and we get to see 2 of the 3 B’s.
