Ginger (1971) is the first of the "Jane Bond" trilogy staring Cheri Caffaro, and easily the worst of the three. The second and third had a little more budget to work with, due to profit from this film. Several women get naked, but Caffaro is the only one identified. Ginger (Caffaro) is recruited to help stop a prostitution/drug/blackmail ring operating out of a wealthy New Jersey resort town. Along the way, she has a great cat fight, not only stripping and kicking the shit out of her female arch enemy, but hog-tying her with her own bra and panties. Another highlight for me was the way she castrated one of the bad guys.

This film is decidedly un PC. The token evil black man is in the ring for white ass. He forces one of the junkies, a wealthy white woman, to come to "nigger town" for her fix, and have sex with him on a concrete floor. There is also a good deal of bondage in this film.

IMDB readers have it at 2.6 of 10. I see that as a little unfair. This was drive-in exploitation fare, and had the required elements. Further, it has a lot of bad movie energy. For instance, the leader of the crime ring, who is supposed to be Mr. Macho, and who rapes women who don't cooperate, is played by the most obviously gay actor I have ever seen in a film. Most of the cast seems to have been chosen for having less acting ability than the star, so as to not show her up. The DVD quality is poor to very poor. It was obviously mastered from some good and some well-worn reels. The proper score is C-. IF you like early exploitation fare, you should see this one.

Atomic Twister is a movie I have not seen, but "E" wrote a detailed report of this absurdly bad made-for-TV teasefest. No nudity, but it might make a good capping project if you're looking for something offbeat. Read his notes.

Igby Goes Down  is the eleven millionth movie derived from Catcher in the Rye, and the seven millionth to update the story to the present. Very nasty humor saved it for me, but it's not a mass audience kind of picture.

The Hours will probably be nominated for a spitpot full of Academy Awards, although it is a manipulative weepathon. It is well performed, but appreciation requires either possession of a vagina or a strong desire to possess one.

Who is Cletis Tout? is rated quite high - at least 6.4/10 - by the voters at all three major rating sites, although critics generally savaged it. and it was a miserable bomb at the box office. I liked it. In a world in which coldly ironic black humor is the current fashion, it is one of the few films I saw this year that had both humor and a heart.

The nude pic of Cathy Rigby appeared in the August 21, 1972 issue of Sports Illustrated. I don't ever remember her posing for Playboy (mores the pity). The picture in SI is from the rear, Cathy posed in a split on the balance beam. I've scanned it, but it doesn't look so hot. It was printed using the halftone (?) process. I'll see if I can touch it up and get a copy to you, if you are interested.

Reaching 90% is an amazing achievement when you consider that John Ashcroft is only annoying to 80% of all people, and Barbra Streisand, Darryl Strawberry, and Rosie O'Donnell are only in the 70s.

Now you know I love those "Babes in Bondage" so here's Femi Martin on the wheel of spikes, then she winds up on the rack, only to be finished off with a whack in the head with a chain. Then we see some more of Rita Klein as she gets a hot oil treatment. We finally get out of here with caps of Moa Tahi in the spider web of the Crimson Executioner and threatened by a silly looking mechanical spider. This movie is not to be taken seriously. Next time maybe we will get back to the future.
