Tuesday Silliness Well gang, I missed out on the Scoopy Fun this weekend, but apparently Sr. really loved those caps from the German "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Now he has a vision of German pirates goose-stepping in his head. I have no idea how that happened, but, as Sr. put it, making fun of German pirates is as much fun as it is easy! Here are a few of Sr's thoughts on the subject… "Achtung, me hearties" German pirates just loved that carefree life on the North and Baltic seas .... hard to keep the parrots alive through the winter, though. ("lovely bird, the Norwegian blue, beautiful plumage") During the cold snaps they would find ships trapped in the ice and board them on skates, often with intricate patterns and great aplomb. Many of today's top German figure skaters are descended from the legendary skating pirates. The speed skaters are descended from the wenches who managed to get away from those lusty buccaneers. (The "triple lutz" actually is a misspelling of "triple lust" .... a maneuver often seen among the horniest corsairs) No need for costly wooden legs ... just cut an icicle to size Fashion was a bit off .... hard to get your eyepatch to match your earmuffs At first they'd make people walk the plank but most of the intended victims just fell a few feet onto the ice and walked away Fun House Variety Next up, from CHUD, here's Amy Locane from the movie "Carried Away".
